Many thanks to Stephenie for teaching us name drafts last week! The plan is to create something using the name draft that can be displayed in Area 2 Guild's booth. Our booth focus is on plants and textiles: either plants and textiles used by the pioneers or plants (think hemp, woad, linen) or textiles currently being pioneered, such as seasilk, bamboo, tencel and more.
The name draft does not have to be your name; it can be a word or phrase that has meaning for you in your art. Unless you weave the "code" into the edge of the item, you will not actually see the name or word woven there, but if the code is there, a good code-breaker will be able to solve it!
As far items, the sky is the limit! A possible bag, scarf, towel, mat -- just keep the item fairly small because our booth is only 10 x 10 and we are sharing with three other guilds and ..... a scale model of Inscription Rock created by Kathy Mc.
The sample tie up Stephenie gave us is for a 4 harness loom with 2/2 twill overshot structure. I will scan the tie up page from the handout and email it separately.
